NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2008 school year at Tiny Tot Preschool and Kindergarten.  Whether you are new to our school or a returning family, we are thrilled that you have chosen us as a partner in you
r child's early care and education. We know your child will have many positive experiences in the classroom.  The adjustment period will be minimal compared to the skills and friendships that your child will make at Tiny Tot.
Tiny Tot Preschool and Kindergarten provides full and half day care for children ages 15 months through 6 years.  Your program is designed to enhance your child's learning in a stimulating and nurturing environment.  We are committed to upholding the highest quality program possible.
Early childhood education is very important in the development of many skills such as social and emotional, self-help and cognitive, and fine and gross motor, to name just a few.  We are confident that our program will lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning.  We are honored that you have entrusted us to nurture and educate your child during these most formative years.
Communication is essential for a productive relationship between home and school  Please feel free to call the school and talk with those who may be of help. The office is available to you at any time and you may speak directly with your child's teacher between the hours of 12:30 and 2:30 daily.  We also provide information about events and activities on the parent information board in each classroom and in the weekly classroom newsletter as well as the director's monthly newsletter.  We encourage you to come back to our website to familiarize yourself with our parent handbook.  Both the handbook and the newsletters are on this website for your convenience.  The parent handbook is an excellent tool for answering any questions you may have regarding policies, curriculum and our philosophy.
Tiny Tot strives to provide the best experience possible for your child and your family. We are driven by history of excellence combined with current best practices in early care and education.  We are looking forward to having you as a part of our Tiny Tot Family for the 2008-2009 school year.

Sincerely,

Miss Bonnie
Director

What your child wears to
school can make a significant
difference in his/her day.
Please have your children
wear gym shoes.
Choose clothes that are soft
and flexible. This allows your
child to run, climb, peddle
without restriction.
We don’t have to dress up for school.
We encourage you to send your
child in clothing that can and will
get dirty. A young child’s work
and play is active and messy.
Leave jewelry at home.
Necklaces, bracelets and rings
can get caught on play equipment
and cause injury to your child.
Also jewelry can get lost or broken
and we all feel bad.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) that
we started on May 1st  of last year, has been a great success.
Thank you for filling out the forms.
The children are receiving a nutritious breakfast,
lunch and snack. It has given them an opportunity
to try new and different nutritious foods every day.

Breakfast is served between 8:30 and 8:45 in
the fours and fives and between 8:45-9:00
in the toddlers and threes.
Please have your child
at school by that time so they can take
advantage of a "yummy" breakfast.

No over the counter medication
will be given without a note or fax
from the doctor.
We will administer only prescription
medication in the original container
with your written consent.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

One of the best gifts to your child is
a lifelong love of reading, and that begins
by reading out loud every day.
It’s never too early to start, and it’s
the single most important thing
you can do to help your child
build his literacy skills.
Research shows that children
who have been read to
since their earliest years do better
in reading than their peers
who haven’t had the same advantage
-and the edge persists
all the way to high school.

Most libraries today have
wonderful children’s section
and even story hours.
It’s a great field trip.

Happy reading!

The Joy of Reading!

Please wash your child’s hands
when you bring your child to school.
It is  the single most important
thing we can do to prevent
the spread of germs.
