WELCOME BACK!  

     Our first week back after your vacation has been very smooth.  The children are adjusting to their new classroom and new teachers and seeing their friends again.  During the first week we were closed the school was painted, the floors were stripped and waxed and the teacher's office was completed.  During the second week the teachers worked very hard putting the rooms back together and preparing for the children's return.  A BIG thank you to each and every one of them for their hard work and generous hearts.   
     Effective preschool and daycare programs are places where children feel well cared for and safe.  They are places where children get attention, approval and affection.  They are also places where children can build a strong foundation in the knowledge and skills needed for school success.  In that light, we will be following "The Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood."  You will be receiving a copy of "A Parents Guide to Early Childhood Education."  PLEASE take some time out of your busy schedule to read and learn about this wonderful program.  If you have any questions, feel free to talk with any of our staff.  We will be attending on-going workshops to help us implement and program completely. Your child is our number one priority. We are building the future, a good solid beginning can only lead to success.

OUR FALL FUNDRAISER

Fundraisers are an important part of our budget and help offset the cost of replacing equipment.  We are excited
to bring you our Fall Fundraiser.  We have chosen the McCarthy Group's "Happy Holidays." The catalog has a
wonderful selection of little treasures and good things to eat. This is a good time to get some holiday shopping done. 
Your support has always been overwhelming and we appreciate all of your efforts.

Please show the brochure to friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.  Collect money when taking orders and
make checks payable to Tiny Tot.  There is NO tax.  Selling dates are September 1, 2003 through Monday,
September 15, 2003.  Please return the brochure and money to school on or before September 15, 2003. 
Candy and treasures will be delivered before Thanksgiving.

In addition to the prizes given by the McCarthy Group, we will offer prizes to our top sellers.

One of our priorities is to replace the fence from the sandbox to the alley and from the alley to the building. 
The bids are coming in and we appear to be looking at $2000 to $2500.  This is the biggest thing on our "wish list."

We have been fans of Eastern Style Pizza for many years and often order
their food for teacher's meetings or just luncheon treats. 
When Lori, the owner, called and talked about giving us the opportunity
of having parents order and delivering the food to Tiny Tot, I was thrilled. 
The menu and letter from Lori and Barry  is in your child's folder. 
On Monday, September 8, Lori will be at Tiny Tot for a taste test. 
You will be able to meet Lori and taste Easter Style food. 
This is an easy one-stop, no-fuss solution for dinner!

WHAT'S HAPPENING...

Our Teddy Bears, the two's ...
mixed, stirred and baked a cake for a friend's second birthday. 
They enjoyed the food preparation experience very much.
 

The Bunny Bunch, the threes ...
are so excited that school has started once again.  It is so much fun to
see all of the smiling faces.  We want to welcome all of our new friends to our room. 
During the first week of school we talked about ourselves, families and new friends. 
The children expressed their feelings by drawing some pictures that we
decorated our classroom with.  During the month of September,
we will talk about our families, communities and friendships. 
We hope that all parents will enjoy the new school year as much as their children are.
 

Our 4's, our Junior Kindergarten ...
started off with math, science, creative arts and classroom rules.
"We were being attacked by Apple People."
In Math, we sponge painted with different sizes.
 

Our 5's, our Kindergartener's...
had an exciting first week.  We developed our own classroom rules and we used this time
to explore our new classroom.  We also created self portraits, decorated schoolhouses
and painted using a roller and a sponge.
