TINY TOT TIMES

November 2008

NEWS AND NOTES

Dear Parents,
Now that the cold weather has arrived, we would like to remind you to please dress your children appropriately for the weather. With the exception of extremely cold or damp days, we do have outside time everyday. The length of outdoor play will vary according to weather and temperature. Due to child/staff ratio requirements, children may not be kept indoors due to illness and should remain home if unable to go outside. Please be sure your children have winter coats, hats, mittens, and boots to keep them warm and dry. If your child wears boots, please
bring another pair of shoes for your child to change into. Our heat is in the floors and their feet can get very warm. Some parents bring slippers for inside wear. Please label these items with your child’s name to avoid confusion. It is not unusual for several children to have the
same boots, mittens, hats and slippers. On the subject of clothes, please check your child’s box of extra clothing. They have grown since
August, and shorts and warm weather clothing won’t keep our little ones warm. As a reminder, every child should have at least two complete changes of clothing. Socks too!
Our field trip to the pumpkin patch was great fun. The children returned with many stories and pumpkins. The day was just perfect. Thank you to all our parents who joined in our fun. We couldn’t do it without you.
The children really enjoyed their trip to Centre East Youth Theatre to see “The Mammoth Follies”. As part of our fine art education, we will be attending “Junie B Jones” on Monday, November 10th, and “The Chinese Golden Dragon Acrobats” in January.

Picture Day went very smoothly.
 We should have the pictures
the first full week of November.
You will be able to
take the pictures home,
choose what you like
and return the others.

Parent-Teacher Conference Week
starts, November 10th.
The teachers will contact you for a time.
This is a wonderful time to sit down
with your child's teacher
and discuss your child's progress.
The teachers have worked very hard
on the conferences and
are looking forward to spending
a few minutes with each of you.

We just purchased a new refrigerator and we would like to purchase 2 more digital cameras, so that
every room would have their own. Thank you for your cooperation.
Our Monday and Tuesday bake sales are going well.
Thank you for signing up and supporting this fun endeavor.
We deposited $72.00 this morning, just from our
penny jar and bake sale. It all adds up!

          HOW TO OBSERVE THANKSGIVING

Count your blessings instead of your crosses.
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes.
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears.
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean.
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth.
Count on God instead of your yourself.

December will be a very busy month for us all. During the month we will be discussing the different and various customs and traditions representative of our ethnic backgrounds at Tiny Tot. If your family would like to share your customs or traditions, please speak to your child’s teacher.
We will have our holiday Pot-Luck dinners again this year in December. You will receive specific information in a few weeks.
We will close on Tuesday, December 23rd at 6:00 pm for our winter vacation, and re-open on Monday, January 5, 2009.
Full tuition is due for all children for the week of December 22nd. I realize that that week has only two days: add Christmas and New Years Day to make four days. Your children’s teachers are paid for winter vacation, so it is essential that all parents pay for one week.
