NEWS AND NOTES

HAPPY SPRING! FINALLY!!
We have all enjoyed being outside. The children are enjoying our basketball hoop, new sand and sand toys.

May has been a great month: one of our highlights was the Book-It Contest.
The four and five year old classes read almost 900 books.
There was serious competition between the classes.
We had daily tallies and lots of encouragement to read more and more.
The children will enjoy a pizza party on the day of their choice.

The biggest highlight was our Tiny Tot Cookbook!
Do you have yours?
There is a bit of history, old and new pictures and wonderful recipes.
They are $12.00 and make wonderful gifts.

A very BIG Thank You to the Kramer Family.
They donated a Dell computer to Tiny Tot.

Congratulations to the Corcoran Family
on the birth of their daughter, Chloe, my fourth grandchild.
Lexi is in Miss Shannon’s room.
It doesn’t get better till another baby is born!

Congratulations to the Lara Family on the birth of their son Henry.
Mia is in our three year old classroom.

Thank you for your pennies, Box Tops and labels.
We just received a check for $32.00.
The monies go toward all the things we buy
to make Tiny Tot a wonderful place for your children.

Magic pickup lotion

Cleanup time is a challenging time for many parents. Make it a little “magical” for your child by introducing “magic pickup lotion”. Just rub a little glitter lotion on his or her hands, and your child will pickup a roomful of toys in no time at all. You could have even more fun by rubbing a little lotion on your hands first. Make your hands start to quiver and shake, then zoom into picking up toys. As with any strategy you try with your child, when this novelty wears off, put it away for a while. Re-introduce it at a later time.

WHAT'S HAPPENING...

Our Teddy Bears, the two's ...
during May reviewed our colors and had a special color each day.
On yellow day we made lemonade, first we tried it without sugar, but it was too sour.
Then we used the squeezed lemons to paint.

The Bunny Bunch, the threes ...
During the month of May we were talking about
Transportation week, next will be Community Helpers Week.
Transportation week:
Art: Paint a Bus, paint an airplane, and decorated a train.
Math: counted transportation vehicles.
Music: We sang the Wheels on the bus.

Our 4's, our Junior Kindergarten ...
this month we had a lot of fun make gorgeous presents for Mother's Day
-we painted vases, pop-up flower cards and beautiful butterfly puppets.

Our 5's, our Kindergartener's...
this month we talked about animals that lay eggs.
We drew our favorite.
