NEWS AND NOTES

SPRING, SPRING SPRING.......IT'S COMING !!!!!!!!!!

We are hoping that we have seen the last of the cold.
We will be sending slippers and snow gear home the week
of March 19th,  It's time to check your child's extra clothes
box and replace clothing as needed.  The children have grown
and the fall clothes probably won't fit.  We will be outside
on a daily basis and ask you to dress your child appropriately.
Proper shoes are very important for the safety of the children.
Gym shoes are the best.

Easy Organization Tips

By organizing the items and toys in your child's room or play area, you're helping her becomes more independent and resourceful.  Here are four of our favorite ideas:

Save plastic baby-wipe containers to store art supplies like markers, crayons and brushes.  Your child can help decorate and label each container.
Hang hammock-like, stretchy material in a corner to store stuffed animals or dolls in.  Hang it low so that children can reach the toys.
Use a clear over-the-door shoe organizer to store your child's collections.  label the dividers with fun facts about the contents.
When it's time to get rid of an old dresser, save the drawers.  Attach wheels to the bottoms to create roll-away, under-the-bed storage bins.

WHAT'S HAPPENING...

Our Teddy Bears, the two's ...
want you to guess who that is behind that bear mask!
To celebrate Valentine's Day, the children used red, white, pink tissue paper
to create the hearts used on our beautiful bulletin board display

During pet week, the children created these beautiful goldfish.
We put all the fish together to make an eye catching underwater scene.

After talking about Groundhog Day, the children worked on their fine motor
skills as they used crayons to color their own groundhogs.

The children used different colored pieces of yarn to make these cute cats.

The Bunny Bunch, the threes ...
during the month of February we talked about Dental Hygiene.  Activities
included painting with toothbrushes, brushing teeth cutouts with toothpaste and
toothbrushes, and practicing flossing.  We also did a science experiment in
which we placed hardboiled eggs in soda and saw the effects this has on our
teeth.  After they turned brown, we then brushed them clean.

During Friendship Week we talked about how we are all special.
We made see-through heart collages.

We made shamrocks for St. Patrick's Day.

Our 4's, our Junior Kindergarten ...
Each child is a star and is able to bring in pictures to tell us about themselves.
The Children were able to mix colors,
fold them together and tell us what they pictures looked like.
We enjoyed making these crazy Valentine people.
We cut, pasted and decorated them.
This month we made our own unique file folders
to hold all of our wonderful projects.

Our 5's, our Kindergartener's...
for St. Patrick's Day painted with shaving cream, paint, and glitter.
We used shape paint spreaders to spread the paint on our paper.
When they dried, we cut them into shamrock shapes.
While talking about the five senses, we made 5 senses portraits
using wiggly eyes, cotton balls sprayed with perfume for the nose,
jingle bells for the ears, licorice for the mouth and sand paper hands
.
