TINY TOT TIMES

March 2001
IT'S SPRING!!!!
HAPPY SPRING!!!! It's been a long time coming,
but it's here. Every time I put the snow brush away it snowed, so it will remain
in the car until June! We won't miss the snow pants, hats, gloves and
scarves. It's time to check your child's clothes box and replace clothing
as needed. The children have all grown and the fall clothes probably won't
fit. We will be outside on a daily basis and ask you to dress your child
appropriately. Proper shoes are very important for the safety of the
children. Gym shoes are the best. Please no sandals or floppy shoes.
Thank you for your cooperation.
March is a wonderful month! Our
first grandchild, Kevin Christopher Corcoran was born March 10th.
It's an
incredible experience when you baby has a baby. Mom and baby are healthy
and very happy.
Thank you for all of your good wishes.

| Week
of the Young Child: April 1-7, 2001 "Early Childhood: Where Our Future Begins" |
|||
|
In 1969, Chicago Mayor Richard J. Daley signed a proclamation designating May 4-11, as the first "Week of the Young Child". Two years later the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation's largest organization of early childhood professionals with nearly 103,000 member adopted the idea. It is now an annual celebration held each April. The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to support the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. Early childhood is where our future begins. We need to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment--at home, at child care, at school, and in the community--that will promote their early learning. |

In celebration we invite you to join
us for a continental breakfast between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday
April 3rd with the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten class and
on Thursday, April 5th with the Three Year Old and Toddler class. We hope
you can take a few minutes to share a morning treat with your little ones.
What a great way to start the day.
