"The Chicks are Here, the Chicks are Here..."

On April 29th, the eggs arrived and the fours and fives
watched as the eggs were put into the incubator. They will continue to observe them until they hatch into baby chicks.
They saw that the eggs must be put into the slots pointed-side down and that the temperature must be 99.5 degrees
for the chicks to have the best chance to hatch.  They
are now counting the days until the incubator is filled
with baby chicks.  That will be 21 days from April 30th.
Feel free to stop by and take a look in May.

WHAT'S HAPPENING...

Our Teddy Bears, the two's ...
talked about shapes and the circus this month.
They named all different shapes, played a shape game and made these shape collages.
For Circus Week we painted clowns!  We also made a circus scene
with animal crackers.  We all have a lot of fun!

The Bunny Bunch, the threes ...
made lions for our Zoo Week.
We also painted with little cars for Transportation Week.

Our 4's, our Junior Kindergarten ...
talked about their Dads.  They made portraits of their fathers
and made a special surprise for Father's Day.
Another of this month's themes was how plants grow.
The boys and girls planted peppers and tomatoes in our indoor garden.

The Story of Jessica Chick....

(Click on the story to hear about out baby chick)

Our 5's, our Kindergartener's...
in addition to preparing for graduation, have been learning about insects.
During this time we went on a bug hunt, we learned which insects had
wings and we even made our own insects.  In Art, we made bumblebees to
hang in our classroom to welcome summer.
