TINY TOT TIMES

July & August 2006

NEWS AND NOTES

Our Summer activities continue. The children are enjoying summer fun and outdoor activities.  We do spend more time outside.  We can only apply sunscreen and insect repellent if you supply it and complete the ointment permission slip. It would be a big help if you would apply sunscreen in the morning before your child comes to school. All products must be labeled with your child's name.  Also, please check your child's clothing.  We should have a full set of clothing.  This full set of clothing should include long and short pants, shirt, undergarments, socks and a sweatshirt or lightweight jacket.

WHAT'S HAPPENING...

Our Teddy Bears, the two's ...
used rainbow colored tissue paper squares to make these beautiful flowers.
The teachers added the children's pictures to bumblebee cutouts
and decorated worms were added to complete the display.
During Garden Week, the children glued a variety of garden related pictures
on green paper to create this pretty garden scene.
The children practiced matching colors and they completed
these colorful flower puzzles. During Zoo Week,
the children used a pencil eraser and brown paint to make giraffes.
They glued black strips of paper on the white horse cutouts
to create zebras and used plastic bowls and plate to make lions.

The Bunny Bunch, the threes ...
during the month of June we talked about transportation.
We created a classroom mural with personalized trains, hot air balloons
and a lake with sailboats.  We had a great time washing cars at our car wash
and practicing riding bikes on our safety course.  Another topic we discussed was
summer sports.  During this week we played t-ball, basketball, soccer and volleyball.
We created splat paintings by dropping balls dipped in paint on paper.
To keep us cool, we painted with ice cubes.

Our 4's, our Junior Kindergarten & Kindergartener's...
talked about baseball, basketball, fishing and soccer.
We went to the park and practiced running the bases on the baseball field.
We also played kickball.  For basketball we practiced throwing and catching the ball.
We played a fishing game indoors about fishing safety.
For soccer we practiced with partners around cones.
Olympic games were played between the two classes and medal were awarded.
