A VISIT FROM OUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD FIREMEN
In honor of Fire Prevention Week the fours and fives had a visit from Skokie FireChief, Barry Liss and "Uncle Q"

Fire Chief Liss  talked about
fire prevention.
Uncle Q gave out fire hats
to all the children.
The children watched a
fire prevention movie.

The Fire Chief  showed the
children his fire helmet.
He put it on. He showed them how his boots are already in his pants so that he could
put them on quickly.

Firemen do wear
red suspenders!
His coat is fire proof. He added a belt to hold
all of his equiment.

He put on a hood to
 protect his head.
He added air tanks
because you can't breathe the smoke.
He told them how all of this
equipment protects him in a fire.

He put on this air mask so that he could breathe in the burning building. He put the hood over the mask
to protect his head and face.
He put on gloves to protect his hands.

"When you see me in your
house, don't run away.
 I'm here to help you."
The Fire Chief talked to them about how important it is to have smoke detectors in your house.  The children practiced
"Stop, Drop and Roll"in case their
clothes ever caught fire.

  Underneath all of that equipment,
Fire Chief Liss is just
Meghan's Daddy!

Tiny Tot would like to thank Fire Chief Liss, and Uncle Q for coming.
They may have just saved a life today!
