A VISIT FROM OUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD FIREMEN
In honor of Fire Prevention Week the fours and fives
had a visit from Skokie FireChief, Barry Liss and "Uncle Q"

| Fire Chief Liss talked about
fire prevention. |
Uncle Q gave out fire
hats to all the children. |
The children watched
a fire prevention movie. |

| The Fire Chief showed the children his fire helmet. |
He put it on. | He showed them how
his boots are already in his pants so that he could put them on quickly. |

| Firemen do wear red suspenders! |
His coat is fire proof. | He added a belt to
hold all of his equiment. |

| He put on a hood to protect his head. |
He added air tanks
because you can't breathe the smoke. |
He told them how all
of this equipment protects him in a fire. |

| He put on this air mask so that he could breathe in the burning building. | He put the hood over
the mask to protect his head and face. |
He put on gloves to protect his hands. |

The Fire Chief talked to them about how important it is to have smoke detectors in your house. | The children
practiced "Stop, Drop and Roll"in case their clothes ever caught fire. |
