The teachers and I will be attending
Insights 2007 on February 24

during the day as part of our
in-service training.

In January,
the teachers and I
 renewed
our CPR certification.

FEBRUARY IS DENTAL HEALTH MONTH!

How do you keep your teeth healthy?

1. Brush your teeth at least twice a day.
2. Limit sugary foods and drink.
3. Eat crunchy foods such as raw carrots, apples and celery.  These foods help scale tartar from teeth.
4. Eat calcium rich foods such as cheese, milk, and dark green vegetables.  Calcium builds strong bones and teeth.

WHAT'S HAPPENING...

Our Teddy Bears, the two's ...
In January,  talked about our "Winter Wonderland".
We talked about the snow & what to wear in the snow.
We decorated mittens & hung them on the clothes line.
We used thread spools dipped in paint to make a snow scene....they are beautiful.
Later we talked about the Polar Animals that like the cold & snow.
We made our very own Penguins & polar bears.

The Bunny Bunch, the threes ...
during the month of January talked about winter and how the weather changes
and what kinds of clothes we wear in winter.  We started introducing letters;
one letter each week and the words that begin with that letter.
The children had fun using ice cubes for painting their favorite pictures.
We also talked about the animals that live in the arctic
and how some animals hibernate in the cold weather.
The child enjoyed their time decorating penguins and polar bears.
At the end of this month we talked about beauty shops and
we made our self-portrait after we chose our hair color and eye color.

Our 4's, our Junior Kindergarten ...
learned about snow, animals, and Martin Luther King Jr., friendship, feelings,
what to wear in winter and the SuperBowl.  We talked about the letters Ii, Jj, Kk, Ll,
and Mm and the numbers 1-4.  We also worked on our cutting and are now learning
about musical instruments and to count by 5's.

Our 5's, our Kindergartener's...
continued their family projects by decorating a snowman.
While talking about winter we made snowflakes out of glue and glitter.
We also made Winter Wonderland pictures of what we see in Winter.
We painted a picture with a mixture of Epsom salt and water to create a frosty finish.
While talking about friendship, we cut out our handprints to make a friendship circle.
