TINY TOT TIMES

December 2007

NEWS AND NOTES

December has arrived, with anticipation of the holidays.  We are having fun decorating the classrooms and sharing in the children's delight.  This is such a hectic time of year for all of us.  It is especially important to take time to share the magic of the season with the special people in our lives.

December will be a very busy month for us all. During the month we will be discussing the different and various customs and traditions representative of our ethnic backgrounds at Tiny Tot. If your family would like to share your customs or traditions, please speak to your child’s teacher.

Our Pot Luck dinners will take place in January when things have settled down a bit. You will receive information in January.

Santa Claus will visit Tiny Tot on
Tuesday, December 18th in the morning.
It is customary for Santa to visit with
the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten together
and then the Toddlers and Three Year Olds.
It is a very exciting morning.

A note from the Director.

Thank you to those of you who participated in our
cookie dough sale. Our goal was for every child
to sell 8 tubs of dough which would have given
us a total of 432 tubs. We sold 540 tubs due to
the 36 super sellers and our teachers’ orders.
Even Mr. Chuck, our mailman bought some cookie dough!
18 families did not participate.
After a check to Savory Foods for $2931.80,
we will have a profit of $2468.20.!!!!
We will get an estimate from Anderson Lock next week.
The Toddler class was our winner and the Bekanon Family
was our top seller with 33 tubs. That’s a lot of cookies!
The Bekanon’s will receive a $50.00 credit toward their tuition
and the toddler class will have a celebration on the day of their choice.
Thank you again to all that participated.
Fund raising is a part of our budget and helps
offset the expense of our “wish list” items.
The cookie dough will arrive
on Wednesday, December 12th, at 2:30 p.m.

  REMINDER...

The weather is getting colder.
Please dress your child appropriately.
We love to go outside and play, weather permitting.
Mittens, hats and scarves keep their little hands
and heads warm while they are out on the playground.
Please label these items.
It is not unusual that we have four or five pair
of the same boots.
Please bring a pair of slippers for your child
to wear during the day.

I hope by now you have met Miss Eva,
our new teacher in the 4 year old room.
Miss Eva is highly educated with
a Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology
from Ludwig Maximilian University
in Munich, Germany.
She brings a wealth of experience to Tiny Tot.
The children are having fun with wonderful activities from
“Stone Soup” to “Gingerbread Men”!
Welcome Miss Eva!
