December 2002

December has arrived with snow and anticipation of the holidays, which will be here in a blink. We are having fun decorating the classrooms and sharing in the children's delight. This is such a hectic time of year for all of us. It is especially important to take the time to share the magic of the season with the special people in our lives.

Thank you for your cookie dough, popcorn and cake orders. The goodies will be delivered on Tuesday, December 10th. We will know the delivery time on Monday.

Santa Claus will visit Tiny Tot on Monday, December 16th. It is customary for Santa to visit with the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten together and then the Toddlers and Three year olds. It is a very exciting morning here and really gets us in the spirit.

The Holiday Show will take place on Thursday, December 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Skokie. The stars of the show are the 3,4, and 5 year olds. The toddlers and their parents are invited to see what is in store for them next year. We have found that to put our littlest angels on stage is very overwhelming for them. We will have refreshments after the children's performance. You will get more information soon.

The children will have their classroom parties on Friday, December 20th. If you would like to send a treat or help, please talk to the classroom teachers.

DON'T FORGET... Tiny Tot will close at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23rd, and open on Thursday, January 2, 2003. There is one weeks' tuition due for these two weeks for all enrolled children. There are no exceptions.

WHAT'S HAPPENING...


Even Benny is ready for Christmas!

Our Teddy Bears, the two's, celebrated the first snow of the season by making snow pictures. The children used cotton balls attached to clothespins to make a wonderful winter scene.


The Bunny Bunch, the threes, enjoyed painting a winter scene using marshmallows and Q-tips. In the Spirit of Christmas we have hung a stocking for each child with their birthday's on them.


Our 4's, our Junior Kindergarten, this month... decorated a tablecloth for their very own Thanksgiving Feast.


Our Kindergartener's, this month... in preparation for Thanksgiving, learned about Native Americans. We made these totem poles by decorating popsicle sticks with feathers and sticking them in clay.
